Iranian movie ‘ISATIS’ has won an award at the Ocean City Film Festival in the US.

Directed by Alirea Dehghan, the documentary won the Best Film Award of this year’s edition of the event.

‘ISATIS’ is a poetic documentary on a portion of Iran’s culture narrated by four elements of nature.

“A story of the hands of the people who turned soil into elixir... and reached from nonexistence to existence. An old story of the true value of water... A story of a town with all its vicissitudes that has been shining like agate in the heart of the dry and barren soil of the desert. A story of the kind dialogue between religions and the scent of faith narrated by water, wind, earth and fire,” a synopsis for the film reads.

The Ocean City Film Festival was founded in January, 2017. Hosted by the Art League of Ocean City, the festival is an annual event that attracts international, national, and regional artists working in film.

The 4-day festival creates both community engagement and networking opportunities for filmmakers at all levels in their careers.

The seventh edition of the festival was held on March 2-5 in the US.
